Manufacturers seem to specify longer and longer intervals between services but these are based on ideal rather than harsh conditions. Its common to think that harsh conditions means driving dirt roads on a 40 degree day. Actually, harsh conditions are what most of us do each day, cold starts then driving relatively short distances in a suburban environment.
We recommend a service visit and oil change every 6 months or 10,000km. Early warning of any issues is important to be able to plan and budget for running costs.
